Anat Shlagman / Traditional Naturopathic Doctor

Anat Shlagman
Traditional Naturopath

Anat Shlagman is a Traditional Naturopath specializing in Relaxation, utilizing a unique tailored session, combined of Reflexology, Castor oil pack, Abdominal massage and Energy work, designed to bring the autonomic nervous system to its parasympathetic state. Following her belief that, when body reaches a very deep state of relaxation (being in its parasympathetic state) it can start healing itself, this session shows great benefits to those who suffer from digestive issues, depression, anxiety and more.

When realizing that castor oil packs have an amazing impact when applied before a massage with designated herbal infused oils, Anat has developed a longer session, successfully targeting specific conditions, as frozen shoulder, arthritis, depression and more. While each case is individual and each person responds to the session differently, improvements have shown with many patients after the first special condition session.

Born in Romania, Anat’s family has moved to Israel when she was 5. In 1990 Anat graduated high school and joined the Israeli mandatory military service for 2 year. She has achieved her BA in Health Services Management in 1997 and her MBA in Business Management in 2002, both from Ben Gurion University in Beer Sheva Israel. Moving to Michigan in 2004, Anat quit her 6-year job as a project manager in Ramat-Gan municipality, overseeing the computers’ hardware and software in the municipality public schools, becoming a full-time mom and wife. In 2005, Anat has become a Reiki master and a holistic practitioner, employing energy healing methods among her family and friends. In 2014 she graduated as a Traditional Naturopath from the Naturopathic School of the Healing Arts in Ann Arbor, completing a 3-year Diploma Program.

Adopting the Traditional Naturopathy approach, Anat and her family went through many life style changes seeking a healthier way of living. This included eating real foods rather than processed, utilizing ways to relax mind and body, introducing herbs as food and medicine and much more. These changes brought Anat’s family to a whole new level of health, including weight loss, increased energy levels and clarity of the mind. Experiencing these amazing shifts, Anat became passionate in helping families and individuals go through changes, which sometimes regarded impossible, to support higher levels of health.

In Dec 2012, Anat has established Traditionally Empowered Healing LLC, offering herbal remedies, classes and sessions promoting natural healing, emphasizing on nourishment, relaxation and touch.

In Jan 2014, Anat conducted a 6-month research, with a group of 7 women, showing that improving digestive issues will improve many other conditions in the body, as skin conditions, depression, aches and more. These women have gone through major transformation. While stabilizing their eating habits, these women’s digestion system has improved, and many other changes occurred – Inflammation decreased, weight lost, relaxation occurred, cravings lessened, aches disappeared, and many more.

In May 2014, Anat joined Integrated therapists, working together with other holistic professional to promote the whole healing of her patients.

Anat believes that everyone who learns to take ownership and responsibility of their bodies will succeed in making a long-lasting change in their life style and health.

Welcome New Patient!

Congratulations on taking your first step for a better understanding of your body and your health!

As a Traditional Naturopath, I view the body as whole, understanding that all systems are affecting and are affected by each other. I also address all life states – physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. My belief is that when all states are balanced, healing can take place. Balancing these states is done by working with eight pillars of naturopathy: Nutrition, Movement, Herbal Medicine, Body work, Hydrotherapy, Energy work, Sleep and Education.

My fundamental belief is that relaxation has a great effect on our healing. When we allow our body to reach a deep level of relaxation, the body knows what to do in order to heal itself. Reflexology is a great way to achieve relaxation, and at the same time stimulate all body’s cells to do their work. ~Reflexology is the study of the reflexes on the feet corresponding to all parts of the body, and Iridology is the study of the reflexes in the iris corresponding to all parts of the body.

The first session will be one and a half hours long, and will include assessment and consultation, and, based on these, we will decide with which session we will proceed further.

Follow up sessions utilize a unique tailored combination that can be applied within one or two hours session. Please read the description of these sessions as they are attached.

Thank you so much for allowing me to be part of your healing journey. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any question or further information.

Naturally, we should be waking up in the morning feeling energized and ready to start the day. Meals should give us energy to function and keep us focused in our tasks.

Feeling tired all the time, sick and rundown is not a natural state. Visiting your doctor too often, relying on medicine to keep you on your feet should raise a red flag.

This may be the time to visit a Traditional Naturopath:

Learning your body needs, exploring your possibilities to boost your immune system and increase your energy levels, along with providing your body the natural environment to heal itself.

Will a Traditional Naturopath help me keep my calorie intake balanced?
A Traditional Naturopath will help you balance your diet with real foods, providing nourishment to your cells.

Counting calories is not something that a Traditional Naturopath will advise. As long as you provide the body with the right nutrients, body will build and break according to its own needs. Counting calories means that it does not matter what you put in your body, as long as the number of calories is right. Eating “foods” low in calories but loaded with artificial ingredients, Trans Fats or MSG will harm your body, depriving it from the nutrients it needs

How is Reflexology used as an assessment and treatment tool?
A Traditional Naturopath use reflexology as an assessment tool and/or as a treatment tool for relaxation and rejuvenation. There are many nerve endings at our feet, and they correlate to organs in the body.
As an assessment tool, by pressing on areas on the feet, therapist can get a sense of the tissue state of the correlating organs: sore points may show a weakness in the correlating organs.
As a treatment tool, Reflexology brings body to a deeply relaxed state, and with that it stimulates every cell/tissue/organ that is being touched.

What is an Energy Session?
As energetic beings we are surrounded by energy: transmit energy and receive energy. Blockages in the energy field may affect our physical state as well as blockages in the physical state will affect our energy field.
During an energy session, the therapist will shift the energy in the patient’s body in order to bring balance, and this may also affect the physical body: pain may be reduced, anxieties may ease, etc.
There are many types of energy work: Reiki, Therapeutic Touch, Polarity, Chakra balancing and more. Any combination of these or other methods may also be practiced.

How will Energy work or Body work affect me?
Energy and body work will enhance relaxation. Many of us are exhausted, but still push through the day trying to complete most of the tasks on our list. Experiencing an energy work or a body work session may surface our exhaustion state. Many people may feel very tired after these sessions.

How to choose a Traditional Naturopath?
Talk with people and listen to their experiences. Each person is individual, as a patient and as a therapist. Good therapists create an individual protocol for each patient, supporting him/her in their healing journey at their own life style and pace.
